Spetses Island

Spetses is the southern island of the Saronic Gulf.

At the ancient times was called Pitiousa, which means "the pines place". It is near the Argolida coast and the population is about 3500 people.

The island was inhabited since 4000 BC. At the resent times is rich in history, playing an important role at the Greek revolution in 1821.

Today, is one of thee most cosmopolitan destination.

Nice beaches, traditional architecture, pines forest, museum and great hospitality are the reasons.

Numerous of restaurants, cafe, nightclubs, music bars will make your holidays unforgettable.

Cars are not allowed on the island, transportation is provided by horse drawing carriages and boat-taxis

"Armata" is a spectacular  local fiesta in memory of the defeat of the Othoman fleet  near the island, at September 8th.

You can reach the island from Pireas port by hydrofoil, catamaran, and ordinary boats, and from the Peloponnese cost, at Costa, by car.
